Professional Experience
With a background in both civil and criminal matters, Brian has developed extensive litigation experience through his career, including significant courtroom experience.
For the first six years of his career, Brian practiced at the Los Angeles law firm of Irell & Manella LLP. There, Brian handled complex litigation matters in jurisdictions nationwide, representing a wide variety of clients ranging from large publicly traded companies to individuals. Brian successfully represented clients in employment disputes, entertainment and intellectual property matters, class action and securities cases, as well as a variety of other large-scale business cases.
Brian then returned to Ventura County where he grew up, and for approximately five years, worked as a prosecutor for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. There, Brian served as a trial attorney, prosecuting numerous types of cases, including homicide crimes, serious and violent felonies, narcotics trafficking, domestic violence offenses, and general felonies. As a prosecutor, Brian obtained substantial courtroom experience, trying approximately twenty jury trials to verdict and conducting countless contested evidentiary hearings of various types.
Community
Outside the firm, Brian is active in various legal and community organizations, including being a member of the Ventura County Bar Association and a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Education
Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley, and obtained his law degree from the University of Southern California Law School.
Personal
Outside the office, Brian enjoys the beach, reading, movies, and travel.
