New I-9 Form Effective March 8, 2013

Beginning March 8, 2013, employers should use the newly-released I-9 form to confirm the right of an applicant or employee to work in the United States. The new I-9 form can be downloaded here:

Newly-hired employees must provide appropriate I-9 documentation within three (3) days of commencing employment. Employees unable to do so should be placed on unpaid leave until the documentation is provided. Employers must retain the I-9 forms, and should do so in a separate location apart from the employees’ standard personnel files.
