New DFEH Poster Required By January 1, 2018
Posted December 4, 2017

The DFEH has published a new mandatory poster entitled “Transgender Rights in the Workplace.” This poster must be posted by California employers by no later than January 1, 2018, in a “prominent and accessible location in the workplace.”

The poster, among other things, defines what is meant by the terms “transgender” and “gender transition,” and it provides a list of helpful “Frequently Asked Questions” (e.g., “What are the obligations of employers when it comes to bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms?”). The poster can be found at the following link: https://www.dfeh.ca.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/32/2017/11/DFEH_E04P-ENG-2017Nov.pdf.
