San Luis Obispo, Calif.--Susan S. Waag, an employment law attorney who works exclusively with Central Coast businesses and non-profits to prevent and resolve personnel issues, has joined the Camarillo-based employment law firm LightGabler as a senior attorney. Waag’s addition marks an expansion of LightGabler’s legal services in San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County.
In practice for more than 25 years, Waag has represented and provided employment legal advice to over 450 companies and regularly conducts employer in-house training. Her practice focuses on litigation avoidance and helping employers understand and comply with the myriad of employment laws affecting them.
"I have based my unique legal career on the belief that all employers deserve access to quality legal advice on how to comply with our complex and confusing employment laws,” says Waag. “I am excited to team up with LightGabler, a legal group that is not only similarly motivated, but also provides my clients with an expanded range of employment related capabilities."
Waag is a cum laude graduate of UCLA, and received her law degree from the University of Southern California, where she was a member of the Law Review. She consistently receives Martindale-Hubbell’s “AV Preeminent Rating” for the highest level of professional excellence.
“We are thrilled that Susan is now part of the LightGabler team,” says Jonathan Fraser Light, managing attorney at the firm. “Her dedication to her clients and vast expertise in employment law is unsurpassed in the San Luis Obispo region.”
Active in the community, Waag has held board positions for the Human Resource Association of the Central Coast and the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce. She has also served as a board member of the San Luis Obispo County YMCA and San Luis Obispo Symphony. She regularly speaks before business and human resource groups on employment law topics.
