Seminar Description

This year saw significant trademark cases involving the NFL Redskins (whose name is said to be scandalous) trademark bully Leo Stoller (whose tactics are said to be abusive) and American Motors Corp. (whose application is said to be fraudulent), along with the putative functionality of guns, arches and Betty Boop. At the front office, the new Commissioner for Trademarks is shaking up a few things, by improving turnaround times for new applications, and creating an interactive blog seeking comments on the Trademark Manual of Examining Procedures. This presentation will cover these highlights and more.
