Professional Experience
Thomas Solmer is an experienced civil litigator and has specialized in employment law disputes since 2019. For more than ten years, he has handled multiple jury trials, bench trials, arbitration hearings, appellate briefs and appellate arguments, as well as taking or defending hundreds of depositions. He has litigated numerous employment disputes in state and federal courts and is licensed to appear before the United States District Court, Central District of California. He currently focuses his practice on defending employers in matters involving claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, unfair business practices, and wage and hour violations, including individual, PAGA, and class actions.
Community
Thomas was raised in Huntington Beach and lived in New York City, San Francisco, Minneapolis and St. Paul before returning to Orange County.
Education
Thomas received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, in 2002. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2008.
Personal
Thomas resides in Newport Beach with his wife, also an attorney, and their son. Thomas is a classically-trained pianist who enjoys tennis and Infinite Jest.
