Professional Experience

Brian is a litigator who handles a broad range of employment and other matters at LightGabler, including state and federal court matters, as well as administrative proceedings.

Brian represents clients in class actions, individual matters, and government actions, including, for example, cases involving the following:

  • Wrongful termination
  • Discrimination
  • Harassment
  • Retaliation
  • Wage and hour violations
  • Class actions and other representative actions
  • Unfair business practices; and
  • Various types of matters brought by government enforcement agencies against individuals and businesses.

With extensive experience in both civil and criminal matters, Brian has developed a variety of litigation experience through his career, including significant courtroom experience.

For the first part of his career, Brian practiced at a large Los Angeles law firm, handling complex litigation and enforcement matters in jurisdictions nationwide. There, Brian represented clients ranging from large publicly traded companies to individuals. Brian then returned to Ventura County where he grew up, and worked as a prosecutor for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Brian served as a trial attorney, handling numerous types of cases and obtaining substantial courtroom experience. This included trying numerous jury trials to verdict and conducting countless contested evidentiary hearings of various types.

Community

Brian participates in a variety of legal and non-legal organizations and events. He has often presented and lectured at trainings and other seminars to attorneys and non-attorneys concerning employment class actions and other employee litigation, criminal law, as well as in connection with trainings relating to the prevention of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation in the workplace.

Education

Brian obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley, and obtained his law degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.

Personal

Outside of practicing law, Brian enjoys the beach, reading, movies, and travel.
