Professional Experience
Susie is a labor and employment attorney and AWI-CH certified workplace investigator with extensive experience advising employers on workplace matters, conducting complex workplace investigations, and partnering with human resources leaders to develop practical, legally sound solutions.
Susie represents employers on a broad range of labor and employment issues, including employee relations, workplace counseling, performance management, discipline and discharge, employment discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour matters, and compliance with state and federal employment laws.
As an experienced neutral investigator, Susie conducts thorough, impartial workplace investigations involving allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, employee misconduct, and other workplace concerns. She has conducted more than 100 workplace investigations, interviewing hundreds of witnesses and providing employers with objective findings and actionable recommendations to address workplace issues.
Susie regularly trains and advises employers, executives, and human resources professionals on preventing and responding to workplace concerns, including harassment prevention, discrimination prevention, wrongful termination risks, ADA compliance, and effective employee relations practices.
Susie has decades of traditional labor experience, representing employers in matters arising under the National Labor Relations Act, Agricultural Labor Relations Act, and Public Employment Relations Act, including unfair labor practice proceedings, NLRB investigations, union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining negotiations, grievances, and arbitrations.
She is passionate about helping organizations build respectful, compliant workplaces through thoughtful advice, trusted investigations, and collaborative problem-solving.
Community
Susie moved to Ventura County in 2020. She is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) and AWI’s Central Coast Local Circle. Susie is also a member of the Venturacers Team.
Education
Susie received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Wellesley College, where she was a member of the Division III Cross County All-Academic Team. She received her Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law. She is licensed to practice in California.
Personal
Originally from Santa Monica, Susie lives in Ventura County with her husband and two children. During her free time, she enjoys trail running, yoga, and spending quality time with family and friends.
