Professional Experience
Ben Fraser represents employers from various business backgrounds in a wide range of employment disputes. His experience includes handling single-plaintiff actions, wage and hour cases, claims under the Private Attorneys General Act (“PAGA”), and disability access cases. Ben has defended clients in matters arising under the California Labor Code, Fair Employment and Housing Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Unruh Civil Rights Act, and numerous other federal and state laws. Ben also counsels employers regarding employment policies, reasonable accommodation and leaves of absence, and compliance with new laws and regulations.
Community
Ben grew up in Camarillo and graduated from Rio Mesa High School. After college, Ben returned to Camarillo, where he currently resides with his wife. He is an active member of the community, participating in sports leagues and various local events. Ben practiced with several Los Angeles law firms before relocating, and is eager to become a part of Ventura County’s legal community.
Education
Ben graduated cum laude from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He earned his law degree from the Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law, graduating cum laude. While in law school, Ben served as the Digital Media and Essays, Comments & Review Editor for the Pepperdine Law Review and was a member of the moot court team. Ben was also a research assistant, tutor, and worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Neil W. Bason of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Sandra S. Ikuta of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Ben was a member of Pepperdine’s Ninth Circuit Appellate Advocacy Clinic, where he acted as Pro Bono Counsel on behalf of a pro se litigant, fully briefing and arguing a case before the Ninth Circuit.
Personal
In his free time, Ben loves to cook, spend time with his family, and watch movies. Ben is also a huge fan of the Lakers and Dodgers, and enjoys playing all types of sports.
