Professional Experience
Ryan represents employers in all aspects of California labor and employment law, with an emphasis on wage and hour litigation, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other workplace disputes. In addition to defending employers in litigation, Ryan advises clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws, workplace investigations, personnel decisions, employee discipline, policy development, and strategies to minimize legal risk before disputes arise. He works closely with employers to develop practical, business-oriented solutions that help them navigate complex employment issues while reducing litigation exposure and risk.
Community
Ryan was born and raised in Orange, California. Before attending law school, he spent more than four years working in the Orange County legal community and participated in multiple political campaigns. He currently lives in San Diego, California.
Education
Ryan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in History, from the University of California, Davis. He received his Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, where he served as Note & Comment Editor of the American University Law Review. During law school, Ryan was a member of the Program on Law & Government and the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. He also externed with the Consumer Protection Section of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.
Personal
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys following the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Angels, Philadelphia Eagles, and Anaheim Ducks. He also enjoys spending time outdoors at the beach, hiking, participating in recreational sports leagues, and taking his dog on walks.
