There are a multitude of federal and state leave of absence laws that California employers must understand and observe. Employment law attorney Jonathan Fraser Light will discuss an overview of the different types of leave of absence laws, who qualifies for each type of leave, state benefit and pay issues, and potential liability that can result from non-compliance.

By the end of the session, employers will learn:

Every California and federal leave of absence law from 1 to 50 employees;
How the various leave laws interact when pregnancy and baby bonding are in play; and
Strategies for dealing with employees who repeatedly provide doctor’s notes after their 12 weeks of protected leave run out.
