With 25 years of experience, including almost 20 years specializing in labor and employment at both big and boutique firms as well as in-house, all on the employer or defense side, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. He is well grounded in labor and employment litigation from running single-plaintiff cases as well as from managing and assisting class and representative action teams. After many years of providing advice and counsel as de facto in-house counsel to small and mid-sized clients as well as serving several years as actual in-house counsel for seven national retail brands (at the same time), Matt now focuses his practice on employment advice and counsel to Human Resources professionals and business leaders regarding:

Education
Matt is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review and was named Editor of the Year. He also was selected to be a Teaching Assistant by the head of the Clinical Writing Program. Matt graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a double major in History and Political Science from the Honors Division of Indiana University.
Personal
Matt and his wife, Molly Menzie, live in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles where they enjoy walking their son to elementary school like the “Midwesterners” they used to be, as well as hosting children's swim lessons in their backyard like the Californians they now are. Molly is a Director of Marketing and Operations in the space industry, who also coaches youth soccer and volunteers at the local elementary school. Matt also enjoys grilling, hiking, travel, and watching sports outside of work.
