New Year, New Paid Sick Leave Poster
Posted January 21, 2026

The California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (“DLSE”) has posted an updated version of its Healthy Workplaces/Healthy Families Act: California Paid Sick Leave poster. The updated poster can be found here. It must be displayed where it can be easily read by employees.

The amended poster includes an updated list of reasons for which an employee may use their available sick pay, which were recently expanded to include certain time off due to crime victimization, appearing in court as a witness to comply with a subpoena or court order, and serving jury duty.

Employers are also encouraged to purchase and post a new all-in-one poster each year. Remember that employers must fill in the blanks on the poster to include information specific to their workplace. Employers also must separately post their applicable Wage Order(s) and may be required to post other additional items specific to their industry, workplace or local rules. Now is a great time to make sure all of your postings are current.
